Olympic Peninsula Photo Diary

My two high school friends and I spontaneously planned a beach camping trip to Second Beach, La Push, WA since we found out last minute that we’d all finally be in the same city. We dusted off our gear that we hadn’t used since our ninth grade camping trip, bought a backcountry camping permit, mapped out our route, and piled into Emma’s Prius.
I brought along my focus free Suntone 35mm camera with my flash – a setup which I thrifted for $5 total – and Fujifilm 400 film. It pulls out some great colours and grain. The photos were scanned and lightly edited on my iPhone.
I started documenting my travels through photos, journals, and blog posts to preserve the memories made along the way. With this series of photos, I wanted to highlight the natural beauty of the area as well as the joys of reuniting with old friends.
